Introduction
On Sunday 4th of November 2001 we embarked on journey to Paris, the city of romance, in celebration of our wedding. Paris is a city so different from those in Australia. Every tiny alleyway oozes history. You can easily lose yourself, but at the same time discover another wonderful sight or walk into a fascinating store. It is a city dense with sights, experiences and wonderful shopping. There was much we did not see, and many of those places we visted we would return to once more.
Getting around
Travel around the city was all done on foot or via the metro. Paris Visite Pass ensured we weren't fumbling for change and are highly recommended. The Museum Pass was also great value, as there are so many museums and art galleries to wander around that it quickly pays for itself. The problem is that there is too much to see and do. Time and legs are the limiting factors!
The background image on these web pages is the Sacre Coeur, a white Basilica that sits at the highest point in Paris. It was the landmark reference point for us during our travels around the city.
